Computer Programming - ages 10 -18

Summer: 4 Days - 1.5 hours daily - $120

“Everybody in this country should learn to program a computer because it teaches you how to
think.” ~ Steve Jobs

Even the most prominent figures in computer science, such as Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs,
or Bill Gates, had to start somewhere. You don’t have to be a genius to learn how to code.
You need to be determined.

Computer programming teaches about the process of breaking up problems into smaller
manageable parts, a powerful skill applicable to all areas of life. Whether you want to go into
agriculture, entertainment, manufacturing, fashion, sports, energy, medicine, public safety,
architecture, commerce, and more, computers are changing everything!

Whether you want to make a lot of money or want to change the world, computer
programming is an incredibly empowering skill to learn.

Students can take this course as a beginner to learn the fundamentals of computer
programming. No previous understanding of computer programming is necessary. On the
other hand, students can repeat this course to progress further in their knowledge and deepen
their understanding of computer programming.

Students will learn how to create their own programs with the most prominent coding
languages used in the industry. With easy step-by-step lessons delivered by an experienced
programmer, students will solve fun interactive puzzle problems, generate algorithms to
complete tasks, and express their creativity with code. With each developed skill students are
given opportunities to express their own creative ideas with fun graphics and games.

Students will develop and deepen their understanding of variables, conditionals, selective
algorithms, iterative algorithms, functions, coding structures, data structures, arrays and lists,
the decomposition of problems, graphics and animation, and games. What does any of this
mean? That’s the point of the class! Students can learn these topics for themselves, and
more. There is no limit to what a student can learn in this course. We can assess the
student’s current understanding and then take them to the next level.

In a technology-driven world, students can start learning the programming skills necessary to
read, write, and code.
